Federal Standard 595C to RAL colors
Federal Standard 595C is the standard for colours in the United States. It was created by the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) and it defines a range of colours, shades, tones and tints.
The Federal Standard 595C colour range is a set of standardized colours that are used by the US Leavement of Defense to identify and specify colors for military and civilian products.
This standard was first published in 1951 (September 1951. The article describes the then-new Federal standard TT-C-595, the first attempt at color standardization in the United States and thus a direct predecessor of FED-STD-595. Indeed, the first issue of FED-STD-595 from 1956 was derived from it.) and has been updated periodically.
The current version is FED-STD-595C, which defines 725 colours, including 636 named colours. The purpose of this page is to allow easy translation between any of FED-STF-595c colour to corresponding RAL colour.
